New-comer Sivu recently joined us for a sublime session here at The Crypt Sessions. With his emotive blend of delicate melodies and production, James Page and his trusty band go by the unusual name of Sivu. As befits that unique stage-name (Sivu is his surname in Finnish), this is bigger than the solitary "singer-songwriter" tag might usually suggest. Infact, his stunning debut, 'Better Man Than He' was produced by Charlie Andrew (Alt J) and received over half a million hits, with extensive radio support. For anyone that's ever wondered, the stunning debut was accompanied by a video showing us precisely what goes on inside a musician's head, after the 24 year old volunteered to be filmed singing live within an MRI scanner. It was quite the first impression.
Working in a call centre has instilled "a stronger work ethic" in the 24-year-old, whose imagination has been left to run riot.
