I wanted to capture another side of Rainbow Dash, Where her speed and ability aren't revered but instead frowned upon, (Think Disney's Hercules) Maybe envious fliers look at her with contempt and her sonic rainbooms rain destruction on towns below causing ponies to fear and hate her. So she takes to her skies tears in her eyes.
