Struck by Fire: Firebending @ 2500 FPS (Feat. Grant Thompson & HouseholdHacker)

How we achieved this effect http://www.youtube.com/watc...

The first thing anyone does when they get their hands on a high-speed camera for the first time is to either pop water balloons or slap/smack someone in the face with any number random objects. So, as a veteran of high-speed work, a few weeks ago I got the brilliantly unoriginal idea to hit someone in the face in slow motion . . . with the entirely unique twist that those hands would be set on ablaze using the Fire Hands trick I posted about a few months ago. Basically this is what would happen if a firebender got mad at you.

It didn't take long to figure out that nobody actually wanted to be a test dummy for this idea. Haha However when I offered to let them slap me in the face instead, people jumped on the idea like it was freaking bag-o-cash. Thus, this video happened.

Enjoy!
