  This video is of Fedora 15, but the steps are exactly the same as for Fedora 17 and 16.

  1. Go to www.fedoraproject.org, click Download and download the 32 bit if your PC is older. Get the 64 bit if you're running an Intel i3 or later computer.
  
  2. Open the downloads folder, right-click the fedora file you downloaded and in Windows 7, click 'burn to image' with a blank CD-R in your CD drive.
  
  3. Once finished, restart your PC. in the bottom left corner it shows the button you need to tap repeatedly on start up to enter the BIOS. Usually it is Del, F12 or the ESC. Find out, restart and tap the button until BIOS appears.
  
  4. Change the boot priority order so the Primary device is the CD-Rom drive. use the keyboard with the Enter key and Escape to navigate the menus and make this change. Save and exit.
  
  5. Fedora disc should boot. choose boot, and once done, choose Install to hard drive. Fill out the forms.
  
  6. Once complete, restart and enter BIOS again, tap the button and put your hard drive back as the first device.
  
  7. When Fedora starts there's one more menu to fill in. Then it has competed. Also during startup, to enter the GRUB menu, it will prompt you to press any key to enter. You can choose to boot Fedora or Windows if you have that installed also.

  How to install a SATA hard drive - HD video

  Once you have installed the new hard drive into the PC, in Windows you will need to then to go to Disk Management, identify the hard drive you have installed by looking at the different sizes and format the hard drive for it to start working.
  
  In windows 8, right click on the metro interface and click All apps at the bottom left. Then scroll right to Run. In run, type in diskmgmt.msc and hit enter. From there right click on the new hard drive, it should have no partition and be empty. Choose New Partition and choose NTFS format, and from there follow instructions to get the hard drive working.
  
  Be careful not to partition the wrong hard drive. double check before doing if you're not sure.
  
  Caution: Handle the hard-drive by holding it by its sides. Do not touch any of the components in your PC other than the case and cables.
  
  Tools needed: Screwdriver, 4 screws for hard drive (sometimes they are supplied), 1 SATA data cable. Antistatic wrist strap is recommended but not essential. Earth yourself by touching a radiator.

  Do the work on a table, not carpet.
  
  Step 1: Un-screw both side panels of your case. 2 screws usually on each.
  
  Step 2: Slide your hard drive into a free 2.5" bay, and screw 2 screws on each side.
  
  Step 3. Find a spare SATA power cable from the power leads that come from the power supply unit. Clip this into the power port on the hard drive, on the far left.
  
  Step 4. Clip in your SATA data cable to the hard drive. Then slot it into a spare SATA port on your motherboard.
  
  Step 5. Slide case panels back on, screw them back on,

  Do the work on the table not carpet, unless you have an anti-static mat.
  
  Tools needed: Screwdriver, hands.
  
  Caution: Make sure the computer is unplugged from power and dis-connected.
  
  Touch the metal back or side panel of the PC case to avoid static electricity.
  
  Step 1: Remove the 2 screws on the side of the PC case and slide the panel off.
  
  Step 2: Connect the power to the soundcard, which I point at in the video. Slot it straight and be careful not to bend the pins. The cable is from the power supply, the unit where all the power leads come from, find the floppy disk power lead. It's a very small and thin plug. If your power supply does not have it, you can buy an adaptor very cheaply.
  
  Step 3: Now the power lead is connected, find a PCI Express slot on the motherboard. If there is a cover, unscrew it or you might have to break the metal out of the slot. It can be any speed from x1.6. Lign up the card with the slot and drop it in place. Now screw the audio card into the case slot.
  
  Step 4: Drop in the MIDI bracket into another slot, screw it in place, and the ports at the top of the soundcard, all 3 of them are for MIDI brackets. With the supplied cable connect the soundcard to the MIDI bracket. Careful not to touch anything else in the case.
  
  Step 5: Slide case back on, screw tight and re-connect all cables. Then install the Drivers and utilities CD first in Windows.
