Hello everyone!
My name's Jackie Frankovich, and I'm a Politics & History student at Oxford University. I was president of my College Democrats chapter last year at Columbus State University, GA. I'm Democrat (if you hadn't guessed already) but I have a little bit of everything in terms of political beliefs.
My stance on healthcare is liberal/moderate (the latter in some regards) but my defense and crime stances are conservative. You just have to ask me, and I'll try explaining the view as to the point as possible.
I try to use as much intellectual power I possess to best understand the situations facing us, and how to best solve them. I love intellectually challenging discussions, and I'm always up for a challenge!
I try to stay informed on many issues and events. An informed person is the most reliable in terms of well reasoned choices and decisions.
One day I would like to run for office (something small yet influential for the people). I want to be a moral, well informed, logical, pragmatic (but still holding dear the ideals) and decisive leader. We don't have many of those politicians out there and when we don't have one we settle for even the worst of prepertrators for the cause of justice, integrity and honor. I hope one day the world, or at least my beloved America, will be different; a place where those character traits are the strongest and most prevalent in politics.
Or at least the leaders of tomorrow possess simple skills such as deductive and inductive reasoning, a good knowledge of the mistakes of the past and will to make the right decisions even in the most difficult of situations. I don't understand why we can't look for those values, skills and knowledge in our leaders instead of the stagnate dwelling on specific issues such as abortion, healthcare, the war, etc. Why must we always go to the most simple of choices; and we are unhappy with the results when the people we chose end up committing acts of sometimes sheer stupidity or evil.
I pray that we will look for those underlying traits, and I will stress that to everyone I meet. Look at the person, not the issue. The issue is independent of the person - The person in dependent on the issue; everything relies on the issues that get them elected. Even if they are a cheating, lying, stealing, sadistic and ill informed person they could get elected by telling everyone what their beliefs are, yet their beliefs rarely speak of their character.
Just think of that next time you hear a candidate or official speaking. Just ask "Who are they really underneath the veneer outside?"
Well, I think I could go on for ages about my thoughts, who I am, etc. So, I thank everyone for reading this far and for watching/commenting the videos. I pray that everyone got something out of the videos, people's comments and this page. It makes me happy to know people are remembering what matter most.
So, "Let us go forward together!"
