My country or culture is no better than yours, nor yours mine, they're just different.
We have desires, emotions, insecurities, self limiting suppression. I like to think of people as essentially decent. Unless one has a disorder inflicted upon them such as psycopathy / sociapathy, people don't intend not to be decent. More often than not the observer, percieves the idea of the indecency, rather than it actually being the case.

I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my own church....Yes it may be a tad tired and messy, but in my church, there are moments of absolute truth and clarity, which cannot be found in the other churches.
