Without knowing what has happened, Pedro returns to his wife's room finding the bed empty. He's looking for her saying "Honey" when Maca appears.
M: Man, thank goodness you were going to be with mother!
P: Where is she? Is she well?
M: Yes, she's well, don't worry. They're preparing her/getting her ready.
P: Why?
M: They have found a compatible lung.
P: Really?
M: Come on, if we hurry we can see her.
P: Come on!
They're able to reach Rosario in time, and Maca asks Hector to wait a second with Hector agreeing. Rosario believed she wasn't going to see Pedro (in time), and Pedro says, "But my love what did you think... what you'd get rid of me so easily?" Rosario is scared, but Pedro tries to reassure saying everything is going to come out well getting confirmation from Waldo. Now Maca joins in reassuring Rosario, and tells her to calm. Pedro tells his wife that when she wakes up he'll be by her side, Rosario says OK, and now Hector informs we should go. Rosario's parting words "I love you very much", again Maca tells her mother to calm, and Hector comments to have trust to Maca as he caresses her face. Maca and Pedro watch Rosario being pushed away on the gurney, as Esther who will also be on Hector's team stops by Maca.
E: Listen, you don't prefer to wait down below? You'll be more comfortable.
M: No, no, no! We remain/stay here.
E: OK.
M: Come on.
Maca and Pedro are waiting for news when Pedro's cellphone sounds. At first he doesn't answer, and appears to turn it off. It signals again now with a message, that after Pedro reads begins to rise.
P: I'm sorry, eh. I must leave to make a call, it's very important.
M: More than mother?
Pedro doesn't answer, and an upset Maca watches as he leaves. Just then Esther and Hector leave as the transplant has finished. M: How's everything? How has it gone? Hector mentions they transplanted the lung, but she presented/exhibited reperfusion. He says he's sorry, and then comments it's necessary to see how the prostaglandins and nitric oxide works. Hector comments in a while he'll go up to the room (referring to Rosario), Maca agrees, and thanks Hector with him saying, "you're welcome". Esther asks, "And your father", but Maca denies with the head.
After Fernando convinces Maca to share her food/snack they talk about Rosario's state. During this they encounter Pedro.
P: Maca! How's everything? How's your mother?
M: Now it matters to you?
P: Maca!
M: No, I say to you seriously! I hope that your call has been worth the trouble!
P: You don't understand anything!
M: Yes, I understand papa! I understand that my mother is in operating room, and your telephone and your business concerns you much more! As always!
P: I demand respect! I am your father!
M: Yes, that's right, forgive me, it's that sometimes I forget, you know?
F: Good, I have to go.
M: No, no, no, Fernando! The one that goes away is he. Remember you promised mother that you would be with her when she awakes. Lets see, if by once in your life you're able to fulfill a promise!
Esther and Pedro are in Rosario's room.
E: She'll still be sedated hours, if you want you can lower to take a coffee.
P: No. I believe it will be better that I don't move.
E: I bring you something?
P: No. Thanks for everything Esther.
The nurse squeezes his shoulder before leaving, and in the corridor finds Maca sitting down.
M: How's the saturation?
E: 90. Why don't you enter to see her?
M: Because I don't feel like seeing my father.
E: You argued?
M: Juhm.
E: OK! And have you called your brothers?
M: Yes! They said to me they'll come tomorrow. So how was your day?
E: Ufff, my back hurts. I hate the doctors and the patients... I want to win the lottery, and send everything/all to hell.
M: I love how positive you are honey! For that reason I love you.
Maca finally decides to enter her mother's room, where her father can be found, cellphone sounding without Pedro answering, that seems to have fallen asleep. Maca closes the door saying "Papa, turn it off if you're not going to take it." With no reaction from Pedro, Maca again says "Papa", she repeats "Papa" each time getting more anxious. Now she gets him to the floor shouting for help "a cardiac arrest/heart attack" (crash cart), quickly! Two nurses enter running, with Maca asking them to charge to three sixty.
M: Look to see if it's ready please!
Nurse: Ready!
M: Clear! Three sixty!
Nurse: Ready!
Maca: Clear! -again no reaction- Please! -crying-
Little later, Esther, runs as quickly as possible by the corridor, and she hits a wall falling to the ground. She immediately rises, and continues her run. She only stops when arriving at Rosario's room, and sees a devastated Maca on the ground, crying as embraces a just deceased Pedro in her arms. Esther crouches to her side, offering silent comfort as she rocks, and kisses Maca.
End of episode.

In case anyone is interested the FB foro in connection with PV foro, are going to send a book made up of the messages fans send to the actresses that will be given to them on their last day of filming. Please check out the FB foro for details, and the address where your messages can be sent. Here's our chance to show how much they have meant to us.
Take care guys :-)
Again I can't say I'm not a bit sad, and disappointed, but at the same time I'm happy and wish both success in their future endeavors.
M/E was/is "magic", and it's a testament to both PV/FB and their innate chemistry, that they have given us such a memorable couple... long live M/E!!!!
Take care guys :-)
But to tell the truth it was predicted... its been a story of years, and was due to came to an end sooner or later, and the rumors about giving E some air, like zoncear said, loosing her post and being a writter, we dont see has much scenes of them, points to the exit of the carachter.
It's a pity because she is a very lovely carachter and her story with M has given a fresh air to HC.
But if shes going to leave i think PV wont stay very long, she has been having lots of other sucessfull projects.
They are already writing season 19, i didn't know they're was going to be one more. cool
Dea7hNote, I guess this brings into focus Esther starting to "separate" from HC, although I don't know to what degree... well until her actual exit in the beginning of season 19 *sigh*
Update 2: on lidia's channel you can find 18X08 clips, and again in the commentary thread a poster was kind enough to provide the dialogues for the majority of clips. Esther is in the episode, but Maca is MIA as her character is in Jerez with her family. Maca returns in 18X09.
Take care guys *hugs*
FB will be leaving HC during the first 3 episodes of Season 19 to begin a new professional stage/phase for Fatima.
Further Laura communicated on the IBD board ...
"The character of Esther has reached its end. Esther doesn't die, she has a really normal departure due to some changes in her life.
-Fatima Baeza is fine, she's happy and optimistic and excited about this new beginning and she can't wait to do other projects.
-We are not at liberty to talk about other actors (namely, Patricia Vico) so those questions won't be answered by us at this point.
-We're all sad but we hope some of you keep supporting Fatima outside the show"
UPDATE 2: I just noticed ynka posted recently a new spoiler in relation to Esther that may further explain her "career change". Basically Esther will separate a little from HC, wins a story contest/competition, publishes a fairytale book, and doesn't present herself at the re-election as Head Nurse.
Again this may explain, where Esther's "windfall" money-wise comes into play. That said, while they're supposedly giving her "a little air", considering HC main setting is the hospital, I wish the story-direction was instead Esther wanting to be a doctor. Oh well, as long as we get quality M/E moments I won't complain too much ;-)
Take care guys :-)
