"Young jazz singer with a great future""A new face, a new sound."
Ever since winning the Dutch Jazz Vocal Competition things have been going really well for Wouter Hamel. He was nominated for the Deloitte Jazz Award 2006 and has performed at many major (jazz) festivals such as North Sea Jazz. This Ducth singer has received excellent reviews and has performed at various radio and tv-shows (Barend en van Dorp, Papaul, TV3).
Right now he's working on his debut CD with producer Benny Sings (www.bennysings.com - myspace.com/bennysings). The cd will be released in early 2007 by DOX records (www.doxrecords.com - www.myspace.com/doxfamily). All of the songs on the cd are original materiall which creates a jazzy retro-sound with a modern, fresh approach. Catchy songs with a twist of quirky coolness. Or as a critic noted recently:
"Wouter Hamel is a modern crooner. Jazz is hip, thanks to this new generation."
