Match Against Poverty
Football stars Ronaldo and Zinédine Zidane announced today that the sixth annual Match Against Poverty will take place in Fès, Morocco on 17 November. As Goodwill Ambassadors for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Ronaldo and Zidane will each captain an international team of world renowned footballers for this friendly game. The primary objective of the event is to mobilize the public in the fight against poverty and to promote the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which seek to halve world poverty by 2015.
UNDP FlipCam Video Project
UNDP recently partnered with Pure Digital Technologies to purchase inexpensive and user-friendly video cameras called Flip Cams.

Crisis Prevention and Recovery
UNDP helps countries prevent and recover from armed conflicts and natural disasters through advocacy, capacity building, conflict sensitive development, development of tools and methodologies, gender equality, knowledge networking, strategic planning and programming, and policy and standard setting.
UNDP Administrator: Helen Clark
Helen Clark has been a member of the New Zealand Parliament since 1981, and was Prime Minister of New Zealand from 1999 to 2008. She began her work as the new Administrator of UNDP on 20 April, 2009.
