hannah6264, there are a number of gamemasters who host games targeted towards beginners with roleplaying games. It may take a little while longer to locate a group but it can be a great hobby and source of entertainment. Some game rules systems are easier to pick up then others. Savage Worlds is great for beginners, but a good GM can introduce you no matter what system you play.
