Music: Ofrin - How Come (Phonique & Tigerskin Vocal Mix)!
I finally found a free piece of software that lets me render arbitrarily deep Mandelbrot zooms, and it's amazingly efficient too! This video took only two days to render (although at least the rendering was done on five computers at once).
The program uses Kevin I. Martin's method involving Perturbation Theory and Series approximation to cut down the render time by up to 99.9% per frame! Here is his thread on Fractalforums.com:
You can expect more of these in the near future, since I enjoy making them very much, especially now that it is feasible within less than a week.
Unfortunately, I didn't plan out this zoom very well, which left me about 10^70 short of reaching the Minibrot. I promise to do that better in the next video!
If you watch in HD, you might notice that the video is slightly jittery at points and even in lower resolutions no doubt you see that sometimes, a few structures flicker as the zoom progresses. That is because some frames got rendered wrongly and I couldn't get the program to fix them, so I had to manually fix them in Paint.NET. That's not happening in the next one.
