You need to buy, and record with an outside screen recorder (as in something outside of X-Plane) if you want the engine sounds. Something like Fraps, ScreenFlow, iShowU, depending on which system you're on, Mac or PC.

If you haven't filled a flight plan, then you will not be able to check in when you need to. Have you followed this tutorial series from the beginning? I fly with a CH product yolk and pro rudder set.

It can be really tricky, and it's just a glitch with the system. You just need to get on course as quickly as possible after takeoff or it will continue to say that.

I agree completely! It's so easy to get lost when you have to land on the other side of the airport. I recommend that you download and/or print maps of the airports from AirNav.

On the left of the Autopilot panel there is a switch that says "F/D" above it, and has the options to be "on" and "off." Simply switch that to on and it should do exactly what you say!

I only ever use simroutes. I have a tutorial one how to use it (linked in the bottom left of this video), but your the mistake you've probably made is not changing your simulator to X-Plane. It defaults to FSX, so it can make it confusing.

I meant if your computer has an output, which you say it does. When your adapter gets there you should see that you can get your ATC through the headphones into your ears, while the engines come out of your computer.
