Hello there . . . Please SUBSCRIBE!

My name is EDWIN ORION BROWNELL and I am a composer, pianist, entertainer and teacher based in Montreal and Ottawa.

This site is dedicated to my original classical compositions, my covers of "hits" from Bach to Ravel and to the original music of my rock band EDWIN & THE BEDOUINS.

Besides opening shows for Burton Cummings and Bruce Cockburn, I have toured across Canada, North Africa, the Middle East and Europe, appear on about fifteen albums and have 5 CDs of my own original music on the market.

Along with my two rock albums, I have released three solo piano classical recordings: "MUSIC OF THE DANCE," "MAIMONIDES POPS," and my latest two disc work "JOURNEY OF THE SPIRIT."

I launched "JOURNEY OF THE SPIRIT" in Israel at Ein Gedi in 2007, and in Canada at a sold out Place des Arts performance in 2008.

Presently, I am working on a DVD of that Montreal concert. You can see some of the cuts HERE!
About Me:

Since I am a solo act . . . This will be about some of my personal details: I love to cuddle my girlfriend, I love to visit my mom on weekends . . . I also love potato pancakes, borsht, halvah and working in the garden . . . Oh and I love to travel, love to read (Tolkien, Tuchmann, Marion Zimer-Bradley and Stephen Mitchell, as well as books on military, political and diplomatic history, religion and spirituality) and sleep . . . Yes it's time for bed! Goodnight!

While jazz may be difficult to define, improvisation is clearly one of its key elements. Early blues was commonly structured around a repetitive call-and-response pattern, a common element in the African American oral tradition.
