OccupyEducated is a project launched by Occupy Wall Street's Practical Change Working Group, but ultimately, this site will evolve to reflect the views of all who visit and want to participate in sharing what they feel should be base knowledge for all educated occupiers.
It is our ongoing goal to provide informative and engaging book / article / film recommendations, and a multitude of other resources to educate occupiers and the rest of the 99% about what is going on in the USA & the world, why it's happening, and what we can do about it.
Occupy Wall Street is happening for a reason; we need change. It is mathematically, scientifically, indisputably necessary. If we are going to achieve this vital change, we absolutely must unite; divided we stand very little chance. There's one force powerful to unite us all, despite our differences: the truth.
Once you see the truth, it changes you. Many books, movies, and articles contain bits and pieces of truth, and some contain more than others. Not all media material is created equal.
If you're reading poor-quality material, you're going to be getting poor or even misleading information. It is our goal to provide information and recommendations that contain the purest forms of truth possible that represent fact, with as little bias as possible. Such material will open people's minds and eyes as quickly as possible.
Only when we are educated can we all be on the same page and take the collective actions necessary to see change happen.
