Xperia S has Good display, bad camera focus (8MP phones usually produce better pics), slow/lock-prone software/interface, Unreliable NFC, pretty average battery performance and annoyingly designed USB slot/cover. It's just a tolerable phone if you can get it cheap.

It's best to act as if there is no god, but not near armed men who act as if there is a god. If you think the reverse is equally valid - consider your chances of reasoning with armed men of a god you don't happen to subscribe to.

I'd like to see legal rights extended to some of the more intelligent animals. It's hard to know where the line is - but where we have it now is clearly wrong. Whilst human mental capacity and achievements are an impressive differentiator - it's religion that puts us on a pedestal above other animals in a way we don't deserve.

Let's judge animals on their capacity for emotion, thought, and suffering - not on some ridiculous self-centred notion of our own divine selection.

The slow crushing deterioration of self as we age is a tragedy that seems to await almost all of us. It's fascinating to explore the possibility that aging could be treated as a disease. Aubrey de Grey's attitude and work in this field is inspiring.

'Apparently' gay marriage damages and cheapens a time-honoured tradition that marriage is a union between a man and a woman.

Why can't gays be happy with a union under a different name?

After all 'separate but equal' was just fine for the African Americans during the racial segregation in the first half of last century.. right?!

If we're going to use 'tradition' and 'the way things were' as an argument - let's protect that solemn institution of 'Democracy' and go back to the ancient Greek roots by declaring that only men can vote. oh.. don't worry - women won't lose any rights. It's just that to 'protect' the democratic system 'men vote' and 'women suggest'. Women should be perfectly happy with this.. right!?

In case you don't get it.. yes.. I support gay marriage. The terminology does matter. If legislation and government forms use different words - it implies there is not legal equivalence, and encourages future legislators and society at large to treat them differently.

Drop this 'different name but equal' charade.
