Its not normal? Its already been proven absolutely that greater access to firearms reduces violent crime. Of course when you think about it, it would seem on the surface a contradictory position but the statistics better dictate truth than our emotions do. Prohibition didn't work, people drank more when alcohol was banned than before. People are rebellious, if we treated guns as tools that require a degree of safe handling rather than weapons of war we would have less gun violence, guaranteed.

You're out of your mind, the 455 buick V8 doesn't share really anything with tthe chevy 350, and it is indeed a big block. Buick had their own engine department separate from Chevy, Pontiac, Olds, and Cadillac back when they were making 455's so the whole architecture is different.
