The Senate's vote is not needed to establish a proposal for a Constitutional amendment. The state's can both propose and ratify amendments to the constitution. This method of amending the constitution has never been used, but it was given to us by the founders in order to abolish the senate. Article V does give one of the very few embedded clauses in the Constitution, protecting equal suffrage in the Senate, but you have missed a cruciel part. It says: "no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate." So all we have to do is get the consent, through proposal and ratification, of every state in the union to abolish the senate.
