I am an old fellow who now lives in rural South Dakota in what is referred to as The River Hills on the Great Plains of North America. I grew up near the coast of Maine through much of my life and have always had a passion for all plants and animals but especially vegetables and flowers. Growing up in Maine and learning about gardening, all gardens were "organic' in nature. During those years, central and coastal Maine was made up primarily of family owned dairy farms and of course the available fertilizer was cow manure so people were "organic farmers" long before the term was even coined.
I hope that all that stumble on to this channel find it enjoyable and somewhat educational I sincerely appreciate your support and look forward to any and all interaction with you.
May you all be blessed with Godspeed and Peace as we sail through these turbulent waters. Michael

Over the years I, like others, have fine tuned the process somewhat but not much. Vegetables, grains, fruit and dairy products make up the main-stay of my diet. I rarely eat red meat and when I do it is venison. I raise chickens and eat a lot of that along with wild turkeys when I can get them. I don't kill any living thing including plants, unless absolutely necessary, so I have to depend on my girlfriend, Marilyn, to do the hunting. She is a crack shot and a much better hunter than I was when I used to participate in the practice. I might add that I have made these choices because that's what works for me and not for some ideology. I firmly believe in our right to own and use firearms and fully support hunting game and self defense. My gardens, along with other foods that I have mentioned take care of 90% of our food needs. Another of my passions is baking breads so that is taken care of as well. I carry on this lifestyle because of choice and have been living within these parameters for a long time. With the price of food at the market exploding along with the trying times that we find ourselves living through, I thank God that I have made the decisions that I have I hope that all that stumble on to this channel find it enjoyable and somewhat educational I sincerely appreciate your support and look forward to any and all interaction with you.
