I forgot to mention the weepies is 1-6-4-5 based....

So the point is you need to understand these patterns and utilize them when you write songs because this is the "secret formula" if you will to successful song writing. I had another teacher who told me the Beatles were taught all this theory stuff by their producer because they just knew at the time to sing and play covers but no concept of how to write.....good luck with it!

Nice job again! I never heard this tune but its very catchy..... Its based of a 1-6-4-5 chord progression with a twist or two. Other pop tunes of the top of my head based on this variant is bob marley - redemption song and poison -every rose has its thorn...etc there are tons of songs to many to list with this as the main structure. When I was your age I took some lessons from a guy named Dave Clo in the states. You could look him up but he is now a big time producer song writer in Nashville and he mostly does Christian music... But anyhow, during his lessons (when nobody knew who he was) he showed me like all the basic common chord structures and he would list songs for each.. I think 1-4-5-1 he used to call the 50's and 1-6-4-5 was the 60's because it was found in tons of the songs of those decades, etc. So he went through literally dozens of pop songs and analyzed their harmonic and melodic structure.

Hey seriously, I don't know what your goals in life are but I think you're like 90% there if you go into the music biz. You just need start writing as much as possible. It may take you a while to get good at writing tunes but that were you need to focus your energy at this point. Also, if you don't know about chord theory just get together with someone so you can understand the construction of all those tunes your playing. Pop music is just rehashing other peoples stuff that you like and making it sound a bit different. Just take a look at Lady Gaga for example - she is just a mix of madonna, motley crue and a few other pop idols just rehashed together nothing new under the sun really but its sounds new to most people. Bottom line just keep at it....I rarely see quality stuff on you tube but you seem to be a diamond in the ruff.
