About this user

I am the mother of child who was a victim of sexual abuse. Unfortunately the pedofile was never brought to justice but we will not give up the fight until he is. Our story is a long terrifying one and will be made public in the near future.
The lack of support and organizations to support chld abuse in our area which has a very very high rate of child abuse and our own experience has prompted me to begin the starting stages of forming a Child Abuse organization for northern region of Vancouver Island, BC called "Keep Children Safe, Citizens Against Child Abuse." Since talking with people about my idea to start this organization and telling them about our personal experience i was amazed how many people including many adults who revealed to me that they were sexually abused as a child and that our motivation to seek justice for what happened to my child it gave them the courage to tell thier stories and to seek justice for themselves.
The following are the objectives/missions i am hoping the Keep Children Safe, Citizens Against Child Abuse will achieve:

Mission Statement

1. Bring awareness and educate the public about physical and sexual child abuse by the use of seminars, public speakings, organization fund raisers, media, posters and every way possible.

2. Bringing the community together to prevent child abuse and protect our most precious resource "our children".

3. To provide support and a safe place for abused children to help them through the stages of recovery and to show them there a people who care and want to help keep them safe. To let them know they are not alone.

4. To provide when possible a group of supporters to attend court with the child so they feel less afraid and intimidated when having to face thier perpetraitor in court and give thier testimony.

5. To provide support groups for the parents of children who are victims of abuse. When a parent finds out thier child is a victim of abuse from a family member, friend or stranger they also become a victim and need support, advice and pointed towards resources that may either help them through the legal process or just to share thier feelings and experiences with other parents of abused children.

6. To work together with local authorities to prevent further abuse.

7. To notify the public when a known sexual offender resgistered on the sexual offenders list is residing in our community.

8. To let perpetrators know that our community will not tolerate thier actions and we will as a community stand together do what ever it takes to protect our children and prevent further abuse.

9. To come together with other child protection organizations to try to get changes and improvements in the laws concerning perpatrators of child sexual assault and violent crimes against children.

10. To make our community a safe place for our children.

The only way we can stop child abuse and protect our children is to come together as a community and let these pedofiles and abusers know that we will not accept, tolerate or allow them to harm our children and we will do anything in our power to protect the children.
