I've always been a seeker of spiritual Truth.

My journey has taken me from Roman Catholicism, to agnosticism, to Hinduism-lite, to Transcendental Meditation, to ethnobotany, to fundamentalist Christianity, to atheism, and currently, to a set of beliefs I refer to as Enlightened Realism. Enlightened Realism is based on the idea that there's far more evidence for a natural spirituality, than a supernaturally based spirituality. It also advocates that, as a species that has evolved physically and intellectually, we now need to evolve spiritually.

After I apostatized from Christianity and was confident that there was no God, I was still mystified by the existence of this thing called a soul, or mind... or self. If in fact there was no justification for a supernaturalist view of the mental self, how could it be explained in purely natural terms, in a physical universe? This curiosity provided the foundation for my investigation into the mystery of dualism - currently referred to as the Hard Problem of Consciousness. My years of investigation, study, bone-headed determination and persistence led me to what I believe is a compelling, straightforward solution.
