thanks for responding so quick johnny! ive got a couple set ups that i think would be perfect for threshers one is a 6 ft calstar 660xh with roller guides and i have a shimano tld 30 2speed filled with 50 lb, ive used this rod for trolling before and seems like it would be a good choice. i also have a 6.5ft calstar 665-h and either a newell c533 or a penn 113h with a tiburon frame just not sure which one would work better. Any tips on depth or location? i live in oceanside and frequent the kelp inshore, im just not sure how far out to go and i dont have a finder so i dont know where the honey holes are. thanks again for your awesome videos and tips... good luck and bent rods -James

I like your prowler 15 set up. Can you make a video showing what modifications you did?

I love to fish at crystal pier or OB pier. A week or so ago we caught over 50 mackeral one morning. I got 3 good sized ones on a sabiki rig. I havent tried fishing for mackeral at crystal but im going to try tomorrow. The set-up i use is a sabiki with the shiny feathers, hook size 4-10. Tip them with anchovy or mackeral. Toss them out and reel in slowly and BOOM. Catching two 3lb mackerals on one sabiki. We used to be the kids at the peir that didn't catch much and asked for fishing tips. Now we get pier regulars asking us what they are doing wrong or what the fish are biting on. We try to help out the people we can.

Love your videos Jceviche. I'm planning to land my first mako from the kayak and I'm just asking for tips, etc rigs, bait and burly. Also how would you go about handling one for a picture? I'm looking at landing one anything from 20kg to 40kg nothing to big as I imagine it would be a bit dangerous. I also would like to catch a thresher so any helpful info would be much appreciated.

I am going fishing the weekend to san diego bay and was wondering what fly to use, how to fish it, what color patterns i should use, and where to fish. I am going on a kayak without a fish finder and i tied up some red shrimp patterns and some white ones and was wondering if those would work. If you can respond by tonight or early tomorrow that would be great. Thanks
