your abilities disappear because people dont play seriously during setup
i found out so many cool things you can do with powerjack. if you make someone die from a fall, or afterburn, hold out your powerjack when they die and you still get the buff health. i dunno if valve intended that, but it doesn't make the weapon overpowered since it sucks ass
