Urumi (Translation: Curling Blade, Title in English: Vasco da Gama) is a Malayalam historical film directed by
Santosh Sivan, written by Shankar Ramakrishnan, and produced by Prithviraj, Shaji Natesan, and Santosh Sivan
under their new production company, August Cinema. It stars Prithviraj, Genelia D'Souza Prabhu Deva, Nithya Menon
and Jagathy Sreekumar, and features Vidya Balan, Arya and Tabu in cameo appearances. The film is being made at a
budget of more than 20 crore rupees, making it the second most expensive Malayalam film ever made after Pazhassi
Raja. Urumi gets a dubbed release in Tamil as Padhinaitham Nootrandu Uraivaal and English as Vasco da Gama. The
film has received international attention with the screening of its trailer at the Hong Kong film festival

The star night hosted by Association of Malayalam Movie Actors (AMMA) will be held at the Corporation Stadium Calicut on 2nd of March, to raise fund for the disabled actors and family of actors who died/ AMMA is currently giving pension of Rs 2500 every month to 65 members.. It was in 2005 AMMA hosted a star night to raise fund for the same reason. AMMA is planning to raise the amount of pension that is given to the members.
Entertainment programs by prominent actors like Mohanlal, Mammooty, Dileep, Jayaram etc, Musical shows by Mamatha Mohandas and Meera Nandan and comedy skits by Suraj and team will be some od the highlights of this show.
