Evan Wolfson is Founder and President of Freedom to Marry, the national campaign to end marriage discrimination. Evan was co-counsel in the historic Hawaii marriage case that launched the ongoing global movement for the freedom to marry, and has participated in numerous gay rights and HIV/AIDS cases. He earned a B.A. in history from Yale College in 1978, served as a Peace Corps volunteer in a village in Togo, West Africa, and graduated from Harvard Law School in 1983. Citing his national leadership on marriage and his appearance before the U.S. Supreme Court in Boy Scouts of America v. James Dale, the National Law Journal in 2000 names Evan one of "the 100 most influential lawyers in America." In 2004, Evan was named one of the "Time 100," Time magazine's list of "the 100 most influential people in the world."

QRC has conducted qualitative research regarding important societal issues such as: global warming, abuse of science, evolution, stem cell research, and human sexuality and public policy. This research has been translated into professional video suitable for the general public and for classroom use. This proposal would expand the capability for QRC to increase awareness about the process, methods, and purpose of science perform more research and education on issues continue to reach more students and the public.
Barbara Carroll Forrest is professor of philosophy at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana.She served as an expert witness for the plaintiffs in the first legal case involving intelligent design, Kitzmiller et al. v. Dover Area School District, which was decided in favor of the plaintiffs in December 2005. She is a member of the board of directors of the National Center for Science Education and the National Advisory Council of Americans United for Separation of Church and State. She has appeared on Larry King Live, ABC's Nightline, and a documentary on intelligent design for the BBC Horizon series. Her radio interviews include NPR's Science Friday with Ira Flatow and Americans United's Culture Shocks with Barry Lynn.
