Abdullah Al-Amin aka Dula-Mite is a 26 year resident of Las Vegas, NV where he grew up in the gang and drug infested neighborhood of 28th street from the late 80's to the early 21st century. Unlike a lot of kids that grew up with him, he decided to stay away from gang activities and drugs and to this day he has never taken a drug (not even a cigarette)."Like Many hip-hop artist I have experienced disappointments, poverty and shattered dreams, my childhood wasn't the greatest but I have a strong mind and I use my experiences as fuel, especially when I'm writing music, It's like going on a vacation I use it as my getaway." Dula-Mite was influenced by Heavy D & The Boyz, Dr. Dre,The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Nas, 2Pac, The Lost Boyz, Ice Cube, Camp Lo and countless other M.C.'s The name Dula-Mite came from a friend in high school who said he was ladies man like the 70's movie star Rudy Ray Moore's character Dolemite and it stuck with him for years.
When it comes to the HIP-HOP culture, Las Vegas, NV is basically known as a ghostown. People only come to Las Vegas to party, drink, gamble and live by the motto: "WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS, STAYS IN VEGAS". But if you asked Dula-Mite about the Vegas hip-hop scene he'll simply tell you underneath the bright lights of the famous "LAS VEGAS STRIP" lies a hip-hop culture that is ready to be unleashed into hip-hop consciousness and it's time for the rest of the country to wake up and see it. Led by his brand of melodic flows, smooth delivery and sincere lyricism many websites, music reviewers and magazine publications have already branded Dula-Mite as The Certified King of Las Vegas or The Best Kept Secret of the West. "I live by the motto: 90% hustle, 10% sleep, 1000% grind! Out of 7 days of the week, I'm either performing or in the studio. With the way the industry is now if your not consistently making music or making yourself seen you can quickly fade away and it's even harder when your unsigned, so I'm always making new material or releasing or hosting new mixtapes every month." He has been an opening act or on the same bills as Slim Thug, Nicky Minaj, Gucci Mane, OJ Da Juiceman, Bone Thugs N' Harmony, Tech N9ne, Cappadonna, One Be Lo, San Quinn, Bizzy Bone, Spice 1, Mike Jones, Paul Wall & Countless others. In 2011 Dula-Mite is prepared to release more Volumes of The Certified King of Las Vegas series and is ready to show the world why he is The Certified King of Las Vegas and one of the new faces of the New Westcoast Movement!
