Contestants will travel one of the fastest courses ever assembled on the Race, spanning eight countries in just 21 days. Season 15 also features the quickest elimination in the history of the series, sending one team home before they leave the starting line. Teams fortunate enough to avoid the surprise elimination and compete for the $1 million prize will face the "Switchback," which sends teams back to the site of one of the series' most infamous Roadblocks, as well as a surprise appearance by one of America's most beloved entertainers, a visit to the world's tallest building, and a spicy twist on a Japanese game show.

The Amazing Race Full Season 16

Contestants will travel nearly 40,000 miles across five continents and eight countries. Eleven teams start off by navigating through the congested streets of Los Angeles and, for the first time ever, must rely solely on public transportation to make their way to LAX. The teams' first destination lies in Chile, where they will encounter one of the most daunting roadblocks in the history of the series. In their ongoing battle for the one million dollar prize, teams will participate in a grueling World War I reenactment in France; retrace the early days of the iconic rock group, the Beatles; and come face-to-face with one of the world's most infamous villains. Season 16 features teams from all walks of life, including couples, parents, siblings, friends, models, lawyers, detectives, and even cowboys.

This season's cast of Racers will travel over 32,000 miles, covering four continents and 30 cities, with first-time visits to Bangladesh, Ghana and the Arctic Circle. Additionally, for the first time in the history of the Race, the Team to finish in first place during the premiere episode will be awarded a surprise, game-changing advantage. The new season features Racers from all walks of life, including a Team of Home Shopping hosts, newly dating couples, an Internet entertainer, Ivy League a cappella singers and a birth mother/daughter Team who were recently reunited after the mother gave her newborn daughter up for adoption over 20 years ago.

The Amazing Race 18 featured eleven teams of two -- each returning from a previous edition for the first time since Season 11 -- in a race around the world for a $1 million prize.[5]
The eighteenth cycle started on Sunday, February 20, 2011. It aired on CBS in the United States on Sunday nights at 8:00 pm ET/PT with the two-hour season finale on May 8, 2011. The show is hosted by Phil Keoghan.
It is the first American season of The Amazing Race to be filmed and broadcast in high-definition.
Sisters LaKisha "Kisha" and Jennifer "Jen" Hoffman from Season 14 were the winners of The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business. Kisha is the first openly gay woman to win the competition.

This season, the multi-Emmy Award-winning series sends 11 new Teams on a Race around the globe, making first-time visits to exotic locations such as Indonesia, Malawi, Belgium, and Denmark. Teams will be tested early and often and met with a new penalty called the "Hazard," which will impact one Team's future on the Race right from the starting line. Teams fortunate enough to survive the first leg will find themselves amidst an 8th Century Buddhist temple in Indonesia, riding elephants through the rain forests of Thailand, and racing for their lives when they discover they're facing the series' first ever Double Elimination. This season's cast includes a pair of Olympic snowboarders; twin sisters; an ex-NFL tight end; the youngest person to ever sail around the world alone; two winners of Survivor, Ethan Zohn and Jenna Morasca; and many more.

This season, which marks the 20th sprint around the globe for the series, will make first time visits to Paraguay, Azerbaijan and other exotic locations. Along the way, Teams will travel through five continents, 22 cities and nearly 40,000 miles. This season's Racers will endure one of the most competitive courses ever, as they find themselves skydiving in Argentina, training with the Masai warriors in Tanzania, racing through Africa's "Garden of Eden," putting their taste buds to the test with one of Italy's most popular cuisines and searching for King Ludwig's quarters in the German castle that served as the inspiration for the castle in "Sleeping Beauty." This season's cast includes a pair of border patrol agents, twins, dating divorcees, last year's winner of BIG BROTHER, Rachel Reilly, and her fiance' and fellow Houseguest, Brendon Villegas.
