I am a traditional species family man/pater familias. I consider myself deeply spiritual, but I also laugh a lot about religion. I think we are way too serious about religion and politics. I don't think God is that serious. Religion is a laughing matter and I am a reverent person. Hopefully, there is something here to "offend"/amuse everyone
... I mean, offend the self-righteous and amuse the truth seekers.
FAQs
David, why did you start making Mormon videos?
Actually, I love politics and religion. I originally just intended to do ONE video about American government conspiracies prophesied for the Last Days in the Book of Mormon by Joseph Smith, which have been FULFILLED in my Bilderberg video. But then all the anti-mormons came out attacking Joseph Smith, temples, polygamy, the Book of Mormon, etc. I got tired of responding to the same irrational arguments OVER and OVER, so I made videos responding to them for quick reference and that's how this all started.
David, why do you use anti-Mormon titles when you make videos?
Yes, I do joke around because I'm poking fun at the way anti-mormons characterize us. I like using sarcasm with anti-Mormons, because their arguments are so irrational, silly, and usually based on distorted information. Several of my videos have anti-Mormon sounding titles. You know Americans have the lust of the ear. They lust to hear gossip. They see a juicy video title and click on it to see what it is. So, I reel people in that way who are looking for anti-Mormon ammunition and then spin them around. I like reversals of fortune. God uses reversals in the scriptures like David versus Goliath. Everything seems to be going one way and them BAM! Goliath is dead and the little guy wins. Everyone freaks out and runs away. Sometimes I freak out Mormons who are too quick to judge. They see my titles and think I'm the opposition. They respond without watching the video. I always try to straighten things out with them.
David, why do you keep making these videos? What is the goal here?
Once I started doing these I really felt like I was supposed to continue, because there are so MANY Mormons out there like me that are starving for a deeper and better conversation. So, really this is a way for me to serve multiple purposes. (1) Mormons like me can find one another, new family and friends! (2) Confounding and thwarting antimormons' silliness. (3) Waking up sleepy Mormons. (4) Of course, Missionary work to people learning about our faith. (5) On a personal level, this is my sacrifice and a way for God to hold on to me so I don't get too bored with the sheeple at our church.
(6) There is something valuable about the timing of pro-Mormon videos, because of cultural events such as the Broadway play or the Mitt Romney campaign that draw attention to our belief system.
David, who are you?
By profession, I'm a life skills coach working primarily with adolescents who have lost their way. I hope to one day build an organic drug treatment resort with Japanese gardens, which will alter the course of drug treatment as currently constituted.
David, what is that necklace you always wear?
In case you are wondering, my necklace is a Nordic rune from 200 BC Northern Europe. This rune is Uruz, the wild bull, the rune of strength, good health, and disease resistance. I feel the wild bull epitomizes the essence of the American Mormon man. I also use a rune called Wunjo which is is the rune of peaceful success and total harmony including health, romance, wealth, and full honesty.
David, why am I still reading this?
Finally, you need to know that I send my videos out into the world looking for friends and if you've read this far.... I found you. : D
