About Me:
Recording unusual ethnic instruments at night in his London home-studio, Conil would not leave the house for days until interrupted by one of his collaborators including legendary double bass player Danny Thompson (John Martyn, Tim Buckley).
Mixing was done by multi Grammy winner Tchad Blake -- the man behind a number of Tom Waits and Black Keys records - at the LA producer's country hideout.
The result is a gumbo of cerebral and otherworldly rock music by a man with a raw and unique voice.
In the UK, Conil was included in Heat Magazine's Hot New Artists of 2010. He has garnered critical acclaim from the blogosphere, a 4 star 'Q Recommends' review from Q Magazine and support from BBC Radio 2, 6 Music, NME Radio and XFM.
Single 'Years Between' reached Number 3 in the Alternative Radio Chart in America and Blues Matters magazine featured Conil as the main front cover story. He supported US singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur on tour and performed at NXNE in Toronto and SXSW in Austin Texas.
