A Poetic Yesterday (APY) formed in autumn 2005. Being friends for over 10 years and playing in bands together, the love of music and the creativity that they all shared brought together a common understanding, to write music how they feel and not try to fit into any mould.
APY recorded their first EP (Lip rings covered in lies) in the summer of 2006.
With the ripping track 'Tony Jaa will kick your a**', Iron Maiden legend Bruce Dickinson played it on his BBC Radio 6 show, the APY momentum was building.
APY worked hard, relentlessly touring and writing constantly to create the infectious debut album A LITTLE SOUTH OF ZERO.
The album is distributed in the UK, Europe, Canada and Japan.
The band's sound has been described as having scene greats Alexisonfire, 36 Crazyfists, Hawthorne Heights and Killswitch Engage all jamming in a room together!!

APY has also had the opportunity to write two tracks and use a song from their debut album ALSOZ for an independent film in 2009 called EX CATHEDRA.

APY is also working with PATRIOT FILMS (USA) for a film called DEVILS RACECOURSE, a political thriller, they are using the track Tony Jaa Will Kick Your A**.

APY have well over 500 live shows under their belt and have played all over the UK and are currently squirreling away writing for the second album (more news to follow!)

Recent gigs have seen APY playing the 02 academy with Sonic boom six, Lower than Atlantis, Don Broco and holy grail. APY have also headlined the 02 academy rock night subculture club.

A Poetic Yesterday has just signed a 2 album deal with banter music. The scope for the new releases and promotional material will blow your socks off in 2011.
