About Me:

"During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act."
--George Orwell

"Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."
--Voltaire

"The most powerful weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed."
--Steve Biko

"He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster; and if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."
--Nietzsche

"There are no strangers here; only friends I haven't yet met."
--Yeats

"Pas moi qui ai fait les voyages
Cest les voyages qui mont fait. "
'Voyageur'--Bernard Lavilliers
("It's not me that makes the voyage, it's the voyage that makes me.")

"With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion."
--Steven Weinberg

"Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."
--MLK Jr

"A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything."
--Nietzsche

"I truly believe that Children are the Future.. it will be dirty, annoying, cruel and short..."
--SofaKingLoaded

"Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives."
--John Stuart Mill

"They could be made to accept the most flagrant violations of reality...and were not sufficiently interested in public events to notice what was happening." ~ George Orwell

"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning."
--Albert Einstein

"Fascism, at any rate the German version, is a form of capitalism that borrows from Socialism just such features as will make it efficient for war purposes. Internally, Germany has a good deal in common with a Socialist state. Ownership has never been abolished, there are still capitalists and workers, and—this is the important point, and the real reason why rich men all over the world tend to sympathise with Fascism—generally speaking the same people are capitalists and the same people workers as before the Nazi revolution. But at the same time the State, which is simply the Nazi Party, is in control of everything. It controls investment, raw materials, rates of interest, working hours, wages. The factory owner still owns his factory, but he is for practical purposes reduced to the status of a manager. Everyone is in effect a State employee, though the salaries vary very greatly. The mere efficiency of such a system, the elimination of waste and obstruction, is obvious. In seven years it has built up the most powerful war machine the world has ever seen. "
— George Orwell, The Lion and the Unicorn: Socialism and the English Genius, 1941

"Fascism is not defined by the number of its victims, but by the way it kills them."
--Jean-Paul Sartre

Allieron's Parable. :-)
"4 wise men have to cross the rub al-Khali, a Muslim, a Jew, a Christian and an Atheist.
They set out.
The Jew, after hundreds of km in the blazing heat, falls to his knees and implores his god. "Oy vey ! Oh please god, help me.." but there is no response, so he dies.
The Muslim, determined not to be beaten by a Jew, walks another hundred km, before he, too, falls to his knees and buries his head in the hot sand. "O Allah, I implore you, aid me, your humble servitor..." but there is only the silence of the desert, so he dies.
The Christian, jeered at by the two lean Semites because he was plump and looked weak, walks another 200 km, because the heritage of the men who criss-crossed the planet, built the greatest empires and who walked on the Moon hums in his genes. But eventually he, too, succumbs to the oppressive fire of the Sun, and falls to his knees calling for god. The silence of the void greets him, and he dies.

High above them, sipping a cocktail in the air-conditioned freshness of the aircraft cabin, the Atheist looks down at the desert and wonders why the other three didn't think of flying. "

"Sleep"

Do you give yourself to me utterly,
Body and no-body, flesh and no-flesh

Not as a fugitive, blindly or bitterly,
But as a child might, with no other wish?

Yes, utterly.

Then I shall bear you down my estuary,
Carry you and ferry you to burial mysteriously,

Take you and receive you,
Consume you, engulf you,

In the huge cave, my belly, lave you
With huger waves continually.

And you shall cling and clamber there
And slumber there, in that dumb chamber,

Beat with my blood's beat, hear my heart move

Blindly in bones that ride above you,
Delve in my flesh, dissolved and bedded,

Through viewless valves embodied so --

Till daylight, the expulsion and awakening,
The riving and the driving forth,

Life with remorseless forceps beckoning --

Pangs and betrayal of harsh birth."

By Kenneth Slessor

Hey Alli I thought people don't do things in the name of atheism? Little Scott here just said you act as a group for atheism. Kinda makes it hard to deny what happened in Russia.

Christianity is dwindling world wide. The rise of Christian Fundamentalism in the United States has done more for atheism then we could ever hope to accomplish on our own. Only Catholicism and Baptists currently out number atheists. Atheism FTW!

I just don't see why someone from France would care about Republicans or Democrats? Lynx, what political party do you favor in nicaragua?

I know how you feel. Have a good rest mon amis.

LMAO Axis is one of those "americans" who thinks that no one should say anything about them, but they can say anything about anyone else except they don't know squat about the world beyond what they've seen on TV.

I guess, if YT is removing trolls, that that is the reason Tony left an ok comment for a change. It scared him into acting somewhat decent.

Why do you care about American politics?
