Moved to the US in the early 1970s. Majored in food technology and management at university. Worked in the restaurant industry, primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area and southern California. Also owned and managed Japanese restaurants and cafes. Around 2000, became an aficionado of California wines, and started visiting wineries. Since an encounter with the Judgment of Paris several years ago, has become even more interested in California wines, and now concentrates mostly on wines. Currently pursuing a project to encompass all California wineries, starting with Napa Valley, as part of the culmination of my work in the US.
