we came from Michigan...in the winter..so it's all relative. Also the higher temps tend to effect you more (sweat) when you do a hard 20 mile long run and are out on the sand for 2 hours exposed to the sun the whole time...

    I'd think one of the other Pure Project shoes might be better for asphalt. If it rains and a smooth surface like the asphalt/paved road (or wood bridge etc) is wet, the lugs on the bottom of the Pure Grit (designed for mud or gravel) slip.
