These songs are played the most accurate way that I can, if you are a visual drummer it will be a lot easier to learn whats going on.
I'm from Montreal Quebec, Down to Earth easy going (NO EGO, NO COMPETITION, NO JEALOUSY) Drummer. I`m not better than anyone else I just do what i know best, practicing, creating, performing and recording. I'm now concentrating recording various styles and youtubing it into cyberspace so someone knows I'm out there looking for hard precise and accurate work. Musical experience styles are Rock, Blues, Country, Progressive Rock, Classic rock, Heavy, NO DEATH METAL, R&B, Folk, Soul, Funk, Tango, Rhumba, Samba, Cha cha, Waltz, Swing, Mambo a bit of Jazz Fusion.
I was born in Montreal Canada on July 5th 1972 and would like to share a part of my life. When I was 8 years old ,I had no clue what music was all about. My father started to play in a local band and practiced at home. I enjoyed seeing him hit on those drums but still did not understand how and why, until one day in my early teens (13), I took those sticks and started hitting on those drums. That's where everything started.
I'm now 14, learning bands like Guns and Roses, The Beatles, Elvis Presley and a bit of Led Zeppelin (funny styles but that's how it went) all by listening to tapes and trying my best to sound OK. I formed a small Garage band, covering styles like Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, The Who, etc... Then came along a friend that I met in high school named Eric Gaudet (Guitar) who was crazy about Metallica. I had heard about them but never really paid attention to their style, so I gave it a try. Eric was a bit like me, learning songs and performing them in the most accurate way, so a good chemistry build up very fast between us and at the same time we became very good friends.
15 years old !!! Playing Metallica on a five piece drum kit is pretty harsh , so I upgraded to a nine piece with an extra bass drum. That was more like it! When I bought that kit in downtown Montreal, I saw a poster of a drummer called Neil Peart from the band RUSH, I was amazed and at the same time curious. I bought their album Moving Pictures. Honestly, I was so surprised and at the same time depressed cause I could not figure out how he was playing so I had to buy their video to see what he was doing and how!!!
That was the first and most important challenge that I could achieve.
(By banging my head) For 1 and a half years, I made it. I was so crazy about RUSH; their style, their tightness and there amazing techniques..........
