Nononononono, you cant ally with the Necrons... GW what have you done!?!!? Argh!

Oh, while I'm at it, Grey Knights got refluffed as well. Rather than simply being some badass super-powerful elite incorruptible space marines (YAY GREY KNIGHTS HAVE ARRIVED WE ARE SAVED LOL STUPID CHAOS YOU DIE NOW), they're now extremely secret and classified inquisitorial agents - and I mean like X-Files level secret. Apparently they actually wipe out whole Imperial Guard regiments who have seen them in action - or, hell, who have seen them at all.

Necron changes summed up:
Necrontyr weren't a small people stuck on some small inhabitable planet, but rather a massive empire.
They no longer exist to simply harvest souls for the C'tan, but rather to rebuild to the former glory. Hell, they don't even serve the C'tan any more; rather, the former star gods are now effectively their slaves.
Each tomb world is a different independent faction now, with their own backstory and everything. While your average necrons are still a mindless faceless army, the higher-ranked leaders now actually have their memories intact, complete with their own personalities and everything, leading to different Necron Lords acting quite differently. Apparently the Blood Angels actually *allied* with necrons against a hive fleet, so yeah.
