Preparing to export: 10 key steps & stages

A series of videos focusing on the key steps that exporters need to consider when looking to internationalise their business. This includes looking at finance, documentation, a marketing strategy, agents and distributors and intellectual property. The videos feature expert contributions from HMRC, Lloyds TSB, HSBC and the Intellectual Property Office (IPO).

Until now, UK business interest in China has been focused on a few large established cities on or near the coast. However, these markets are maturing, competition is intensifying and costs are increasing. As a consequence companies are considering alternative locations for business expansion and development. Regional cities are fast becoming the target for local and foreign investment. The rapid rate of urbanisation, expansion and economic growth of these cities offers considerable opportunities across a wide range of industrial sectors and business activities.

The National Challenge: Exporting for Growth

Exporting for Growth is a long-term initiative from UKTI to get professional advisers to business to join in a national challenge and play their part in increasing the number of SME exporters. The inaugural business event took place on 10 November in London and was attended by the Prime Minister David Cameron, Trade and Investment Minister Lord Green, and Business Secretary Vince Cable who all addressed the audience.
