Marter. Sorry. I HATE typos.

I thought her mention of Harry was a bit ambigious. We know Ian Mareter has passed on, but the way SJ spoke of Harry, it seemed he'd passed, too. Did you get that vibe as well?

What canon? You mean the 'two things of the same time shouldn't touch or they'll cause a paradox' canon that RTD invented to get out of the holes in his stories? What about the Mawdryn Undead story? What about all the shit with the multiple Doctors? There were paradoxes everywhere.

I'm only an occasional follower of SJA but I do think they are rather charming, high quality children's entertainment that is also reminiscent of Pertwee and very early Baker era Who (not coincidentally) when the show was still thought of as a children's programme at least in part. The lower budget and rubber monsters also give one a bit of deja Who. Comparing SJA with the dreadful and completely unwatchable K-9 series (poor K-9) show us just how important good writing and thoughtful conception is to Who and how it's not enough to just take a Who character, you have to include other parts of the Who formula for a show like this to work.
