Quite possibly the coolest Youtube Channel around. Keeping the DOS chiptunes alive.

Yeah, sorry. I was busy trying to make work a bunch of games of the Legacy of Kain series on the Windows XP for a RLM style review but i can only make work only 2 of them. The last entry of the series, Defiance and the first title, Blood Omen, who you think that i would have trouble with it like any other old game and had to use DosBox or something but surprisingly, it works just fine. Yet ironically the newer games are the ones that i had trouble with. I should probably install Windows 98 since that is the last system i managed to play when i was younger.

Played through Vinyl. Meaning I don't need any saves for it. (not that I expected it. When people ask for something and you ask for something back, there's often this dead silence :P)

If I record something is a different matter.

EmperorOfLols: Vinyl has some nice tunes, but I've found no easy way to record them without having to play through the game. Which I might do some day, but probably not right now. If you gave me saves for every level in the game I could take a look at it.

I won't do The Pirates of Dark Water, or most other emulator rips. These can be made by anyone, meaning nothing is stopping you from making it yourself.

Nice collection right there. Wanna add the "Vinyl Goddess From Mars" for the PC in 1995 and "The Pirates of Dark Water" for the Sega Genesis soundtracks?

I said I got clipping with DOSBox, I meant screen tearing.
ToxicBarrel (2 weeks ago)
Thanks. I'll see if I make a sample video of an AdLib soundtrack by using those options. If I manage, I'd record some ROTT, Blood and Cosmo musics.

For videos recorded with DOSBox I have used Xvid for compression so far. I'm not sure that's the best way to go. I'm also not very good at working with videos made in DOSBox. I always end up with a lot of clipping when I record videos in DOSBox, and cutting the video is a pain as there's seems to be some problems with the zmbv codec. I don't have any good tips here.

ToxicBarrel: I don't do much. To make the audio only videos I first make a picture that's either 1280 in width or 720 in height with GIMP to get the 720p resolution option for YouTube. I open this picture with "open video file" in VirtualDub. Then I go to the audio menu and select "audio from other file" with a wave file I want to use and set audio to direct stream copy. Then going to the video menu and change the frame rate option to "Change so video and audio durations match", then having the compression set to "Uncompressed RGB/YCbCr", and then set it to "Full processing mode" in the video menu. Chossing save as avi and then upload the file.

What edits do you do for the vids with Virtual Dub? When saving them as movies, do you use the same program or Windows Movie Maker?
