Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty ...I'm so encouraged that no matter how much the Antichrist is now working to steal the liberty we have in Christ by introducing so many rules , regulations and religious rituals into our blood-bought Christian lives Jesus will always find a way to set us free and to keep us free to follow and to serve Him . In these last days we know that many will depart from the faith , giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils but , as you are reminding us ,only Jesus is the way , the truth and the life . After stating that the women set off for the tomb, Matthew then relates the earthquake, which happened while they were still on their way. Verse 2begins by saying, 'There was a violent earthquake', the Greek of which carries the sense of, 'now there had been a violent earthquake'. Therefore, the answer to this question is that the stone was rolled away when they arrived: there is no contradiction.
