A line as the unending horizon. A curve as the rolling hillside. A point as a distant bird. A ray as the distant sun.

I actually began this Channel as a personal project to learn a bit about politics and human motivation. I've never been quite good at it, and while many a friend would debate passionately (and eloquently) about their dogma of choice - be it political, religious or other - I instead would get lost in the depths of a good story, e.g. Edgar Allen Poe, be it "the Telltale Heart" or the "Case of Amontillado"...

No matter what topic ... I would retch at the innequity of the human mind while marvelling at the twists and turns of the Soul. Cuba is a case in hand...

I loved reading the poems of "Che Guevara" ... Partly because at the time I was chasing a dream and partly because even though they may not be the best poems in the world, they showed the inside of a person who by his poems alone might be misinterpreted as a hopeless romantic while his actions cemented the deal...

I think if I had the chance to interview the man right now, my first and foremost question would be if he thinks his lifelong struggle was worth it ... But that is a worthy question for any human Soul and unfortunately not one that can be answered while alive...

No, politics is definitely not my forte. I find it hard to comprehend any political motivation, be it that of Alexander "The Great", Julius Caesar, Queen Victoria, Gandhi, JFK or todays pawns and the likes of ... well anyone alive really. One character that I have documented in depth would be Obama.

There he is making headlines day after intoxicating day. One day he is bowing to the Japanese Emperor, the next week parading accross Chinas Great Wall (by himself), next he's giving a speech at a defunct Car Factory and in his spare time he's promoting a Healthcare plan for a people who would rather die of financial gangrene than get their act together... Now is too soon to ask him the "ultimate question", since all he could do is give us a faxcimile of his motivations. But one day we will look back and wonder ... "Was it worth it?" ... Would he in retrospect wish he had remained a social worker, be it in Chicago or in Kenya?

Maybe, but then ... who would have filled his shoes? Would it then be a Clinton or a McCain giving breathless speeches in a crumbling Car Warehouse, taking a lonesome stroll across the "Great Wall" and inappropiately bowing to a distant Emperor...

Any which way, whoever or wherever... I just hope the answer is "Yes! It was worth it..."
