SHOREHAM A nine part documentary recorded in the opening months in 2009, that examines the issue of nuclear power through the lens of the Shoreham Nuclear Power Plant on Long Island. In the late 1960s the privately owned power utility the Long Island Lighting Company (LILCO) announced plans to build a nuclear power facility in the Shoreham/Wading River area. After $6 billion dollars in cost overruns the plant shut down without ever operating.
