This channel is the youtube home for Matt Dubuque's copyrighted documentary 100 Trees. It is called 100 Trees because this film will chronicle his planting of 100 trees. I am most fortunate to have Dennis Britschgi as the Director of Photography.

The film is arranged along the lines of a series of concentric tree rings, each discussing how large tree planting programs have benefitted future generations, starting from the distant past in lands far away such as the 14th century Oxford University and 17th Century Tokugawa Japan plantings down to Johnny Appleseed and John McLaren in the 1800s, on down to those taking place here and now.

If you know of a good location in Northern California for me to plant 20 or 30 trees, please let me know.

Looks like Oxfam now has some type of arrangement going where they will plant 100 trees if you donate $60 to them. Hopefully the survival rates of their trees is high...

Yesterday I planted my 100th and 101st tree! It was a beautiful feeling, a real sense of accomplishment!

Wow those are huge trees. That's a great story. I'll look forward to seeing the film. We are looking to plant a lot of trees beside our community gardens - the gardens are the size of a school field - used to be a baseball diamond. There is a drainage ditch along the north edge and we are getting permission from the city to plant it up as a shelterbelt, but also with saskatoons, chokecherries, seabuck thorn and other kinds of native trees. Best wishes on your work. Rachel from Regina, Canada
