The Azerbaijanis are an ethnic group mainly living in Republic of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani or Azeri or Torki[ (Persian:زبان آذربایجانی) is a language belonging to the "Turkic language " family, spoken in southwestern Asia, primarily in Azerbaijan . Azerbaijani is member of the Oghuz branch of the "Turkic languages" and is closely related to Turkish, Qashqai and Turkmen.
Meaning of Azerbaijan Flag....
Blue refers to the "Turkic" heritage, red stands for progress and Europeanization and the green is a reference to Islam.
There are differing opinions about the meaning of the crescent and star on this flag. However these symbols often appear on flags of Islamic countries and that may be why the crescent appears on this flag.
It has been suggested that the eight point star may represent the eight branches of the "Turkic people".

The international community must fiercely condemn the murder of the Armenian captive Manvel Saribekyan in Azerbaijan, the MP from Rule of Law (OYK) Party Hovhannes Margaryan stated at a briefing in the Armenian National Assembly.
According to him, the world must denounce this crime, as impunity is a cause of new crimes. "I am sure the Armenian captive was murdered or tortured into committing a suicide," Margaryan stressed.
As NEWS.am reported previously, the Armenian political forces demand an Armenian expert's participation in the forensic examination of the Armenian captive Manvel Saribekyan, captured and killed in Azerbaijan on October 5.
The joint appeal was sent to the United Nations, Council of Europe, the European Union and OSCE.
