17. and music theory actually is extremely useful when you're learning new music that you don't understand, especially if you have covered more advanced material. the introductory/basic material is good, but less interesting and fun. and counterpoint is really really really really intense. it's so complex and very hard to learn, and i'm kind of teaching this stuff to myself, which makes it even more difficult..

nice! cello all the way~! yeah, so i don't know any other instruments.. i've taken musicianship classes for 6 years and am now studying counterpoint. i do take private lessons and am part of an orchestra (which i don't really practice for - a bad choice, cuz now i sit in the back -_-). it's so hard to balance school and music, especially because my teacher has the expectation that i have prepared my pieces very very well...

i'm currently working on transcribing for string trio a theme & variations version of one of the pokemon themes hahaha.. i'm hoping to play it with some friends over summer :D (that is, if i ever get around to finishing it!)
