*The oud (i.e., "wooden stick/branch", in literal translation) is one of the most passionate, warm and soulful instruments among all other plucked ones.

Historically, it has been said that the oud is actually the "father" of several modern string instruments (including the guitar !).

The oud can blend in perfect harmony with other modern musical instruments in concerts, and adds a lot of flavor to it.

Music playing can be simply a universal poetic expressive language to materialize one's emotions and spiritual state that can be propagated and deeply influential to everything around us. Amazingly, even silence in music.... is music !

An oud sound is more like an ancient call .......a deep blast from the past...

Therefore, always let your soul flow into the oud.....otherwise, it's no more than an empty lifeless robot !
