"The Beauty is in the Journey, Not the Destination."

Welcome to my channel, NappyChronicles. I'm here to document my journey and to share any and all information that I have found on maintaining healthy natural/napptural hair. Got questions, I will glady share my knowledge and provide a link or two for further research... if you have any suggestions or advice, feel free to share :)

Check out these sites for tips for Happy Hair Growings: 1. http://www.io.com/~cortese/...
2. http://www.naturalhairgrows...
Remember: healthy hair is the key, so I put healthy hair before length, our hair is shrinkage prone so length comes with time.
About Me:

1. DO your research!
www.Nappturality.com
www.CurlyNikki.com

2. Do Not Be Impatient. Learning your natural hair, what it likes and dislikes, takes time. Continue to be patient with your hair, and your hair will tell you what it needs to be its best.

3. Do Not Be Discouraged by others negative comments or lack of compliments... grow to love your napps first and perhaps accolades will follow.

4. Do Not Assume that wearing your natural texture will hinder your personal progress. Contrary to what some may think, nappies can get a job, find a Significant Other, etc. without straightening their hair. If you put your best self forward at all times, the last thing a potential employer or suitor should be concerned about is your hair.

5. Have Patience With Yourself! This is a learning process. Do not be afraid to ask questions! There will be so much you'll need to learn in the beginning...and will continue to learn things well after the fact. You will quickly begin learning so many beneficial things about natural hair care, that you will soon be able to share that same information with others who follow in your footsteps of being natural!

6. There is No Good or Bad Natural Hair... only Beauty.

7. Do Not Change your hair for anyone but yourself. Straightening with a Chemical Fire Cream or Flaming Hot Tool of Tourture, Dyes and/or Highlights will lead to regrets. All these can or will alter your texture. So before you do it or think about doing it, do your research and decide what's best for you.

8. Don't Think That a Product or Routine Will Work For You just because it works for someone else. Keep trying different things slowly until you find what works for you. And then be flexible enough to change if it stops working as well due to growth, weather, or any number of reasons.

9. Don't Be Sad that your hair doesn't look, act, or feel like someone else's hair. It's unproductive. And for all you know, there's someone else infatuated over what you've got.

10. Don't obsess about hair length and buy into the hype.

If you concentrate on keeping your hair healthy, it will grow to its fullest extent naturally! For some this is shoulder length. For some it is on the back. Just because your hair may not grow to the lengths of another, doesn't mean there is anything wrong with your hair. It just means your hair growth phase is shorter. Everyone's hair growth phases (anagen, catagen, telogen) are different, and mainly genetically determined.

As long as your hair is healthy, be happy with its condition and flaunt your beautiful head of natural hair!! If you've achieved healthy hair, you've succeeded!

O.M.G. ur pic with the child lying on the counter getting her hair shampooed just took me back over 40 years to my and my sisters childhood, where the Saturday ritual consisted of assuming this position and having our hair washed and pressed by our mother: LOVED IT, we all had healthy thick long gorgeous hair courtesy of two products: Ivory soap & vaseline.....Until, that is we convinced/persuaded/begged/pleaded for perms, not knocking anyone who still chooses this route, but it's definitely not for me anymore. Looking forward to gathering helpful tips from you and your subscribers. Here's to healthy/happy/napturality
