Newfoundland and it's history has been around for a very long time, Newfoundland has faced its darkest hours both on land and at sea. Newfoundland has always been a important part of the world, mainly because it is the closest land mass to Europe. Many countries over the past 500 years noticed as well, many have tried to take Newfoundland, and they all failed, except for Great Britain.
Newfoundland was her own country until confederation with Canada in 1949. We had our own currency, our own government, fishery and railway. Newfoundland is as important then and she is today!
