Max is a King German Shepherd, born on July 3, 2010. He joined our family on August 28 and changed our life.
Max is an outstanding puppy, extremely intelligent with extraordinary ability to be trained. He can be quite a challenge sometimes :), especially when he is teething, but chopped ice helps most of the time :)
He is very lovable & Eric who's 6yrs. old already calls him his best friend; they enjoy playing silly games together. Max shows great respect for 13yrs. old Annabelle, who loves to cuddle with him.
Max still needs many naps, but when he's awake he is full of life. He shows amazing confidence & friendliness when approached by strangers. He socializes wonderfully.
It took me 4 days to housebreak Max-I would take him outside every 2hrs-sometimmes every hour :),day and night, when he wasn't sleeping. It was worth it,because by 10 weeks we knew for sure he was housebroken. At 9wks he would sleep through the night 11:30-5:30.
Max had separation anxiety-barking, whining & drooling, when left alone, only during the day; we cured him, gradually leaving him starting at 5min., and so on. I was trying to find the right music to help him calm down. Finally one day I noticed his eyes closing all of a sudden while country music was on. This is the music I leave on, when Max is by himself. IT WORKS :))))
All together having Max is an amazing experience for all of us and we are so proud to be his owners.
