This is a quick and easy lesson on chopping up samples for beginners to pros.
The key commands used in this to this tutorial:
(control, X) which is used for strip silence
(\) which is used for manually placing your chops
Important note * if you want the sample to play only when have a key or pad pressed unclick the one shot button under the playback option in your sampler instrument editor. (keyboard layout where samples were placed). you can also reverse sample playback in that area too for cool effects.
Another tip if you want all chops to be the same length is too use the scissors tool and hold "option" when you chop, once you release your entire file will be perfect lengths!

The Akai Convert is used to convert Akai Sample CDs. They will not show up as a disc in finder, but if you load them up in Logic they will show all banks and then you can load them and they will auto make EXS instruments into your EXS Menu. They have nothing to do with the Akai MPD keyboards or controllers.
