The Beatles is the ninth official U.K. album and the fifteenth U.S. album by The Beatles, a double album released in 1968. It is more commonly known as The White Album as it has no text other than the band's name (and, on the early LP and CD releases, a serial number) on its plain white sleeve. The album was the first The Beatles undertook following the death of their manager Brian Epstein. Originally entitled A Doll's House, the title was changed when the British progressive band Family released an album earlier that year bearing a similar title.
Rarities is a British compilation album featuring a selection of songs by The Beatles. The album was originally released as part of The Beatles Collection, a box set featuring all other Beatles records, but was later released individually. The album has not been released on CD, but 13 of the tracks are available on the Past Masters, Volume One CD and the four other tracks on the Past Masters, Volume Two CD. This article covers the British version of the album - as released as part of The Beatles Collection and later separately in the UK. The 1980 American album also of the same name is chronicled in Rarities (American Beatles compilation).
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by the British rock band The Beatles. Recorded over a 129-day period beginning on 6 December 1966, the album was released on 1 June 1967 in the United Kingdom and the following day in the United States. Sgt. Pepper is often described as The Beatles' magnum opus, and one of the most influential albums of all time by prominent critics and publications. It was ranked the greatest album of all time by Rolling Stone in 2003.

Most of the songs from the album were released in the United States as Meet The Beatles! on 20 January 1964, and the remaining that weren't, were released on their next U.S. album, The Beatles' Second Album.
